What a French bikini wax is
A French wax is a bikini wax that leaves a small, neat triangle of hair at the front and takes care of the rest of the bikini area. It's a good middle ground if you want a clean look but don't want everything removed.
If you'd like all the hair removed, front to back, book a Brazilian wax instead.

Before your wax
Let the hair grow
Hair waxes best at about a quarter inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. After shaving, that usually takes two to three weeks. If it's much longer, you can trim it a little, but don't shave.
Give your skin a break
For a few days before, skip scrubs, retinoids and tanning on the area you're having waxed. On the day, come in with clean, dry skin and no lotion or oil, so the wax can grip the hair.
Mention your skin care
If you use a retinoid or prescription acne medication, tell me when you book. These can make skin more fragile, especially on the face, and I'll let you know what to pause and for how long.
After your bikini wax
- For the first 24 to 48 hours, skip hot baths, hot tubs, saunas, tanning and hard workouts.
- Wear loose cotton underwear and comfortable clothes for the rest of the day.
- Keep scented products off the area for a couple of days.
- After two or three days, exfoliate gently a few times a week to help keep ingrown hairs down.
A little redness for a day is normal. If anything worries you, give me a call.
